The Worlds of Words Middle School Reading Ambassadors cordially invite you to meet Newbery Award winner Donna Barba Higuera, author of Xolo. In collaboration with illustrator Mariana Ruiz Johnson, Higuera reinterprets the Aztec myth concerning the origins of humanity and man's best friend in her acclaimed book. Join us for a discussion about her middle-grade novels and picture books, which creatively weave together history, folklore, and personal experiences into captivating narratives.
